Nigeria: Muslims screaming ‘Allahu akbar’ kidnap hundreds of schoolboys, shoot one student dead

Hostage-taking is sanctioned in Islamic law and subject to particular rules: “As for the captives, the amir [ruler] has the choice of taking the most beneficial action of four possibilities: the first to put them to death by cutting their necks; the second, to enslave them and apply the laws of slavery regarding their sale and manumission; the third, to ransom them in exchange for goods or prisoners; and fourth, to show favor to them and pardon them. Allah, may he be exalted, says, ‘When you encounter those [infidels] who deny [the Truth=Islam] then strike [their] necks’ (Qur’an sura 47, verse 4)” — Al-Mawardi, al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah (The Laws of Islamic Governance).

“Gunmen kidnap ‘hundreds’ of boys from school in Nigeria, shooting one student dead during raid,” by Ross Ibbetson, MailOnline, February 17, 2021:

Gunmen last night kidnapped hundreds of schoolboys in Nigeria, shooting one of the pupils dead during the raid.

Armed men raided the Government Science College at around 3am local time in Kagara, Niger state, in the country’s terror-ravaged north.

Secretary to Niger state government Ibrahim Matane confirmed that ‘bandits’ wearing military uniforms had stormed the school and overwhelmed security guards to kidnap the children.

Footage shared online purportedly shows the thugs brandishing AK-47s and a rocket launcher in front of the children who can be heard wailing as the men yell ‘Allahu akbar’ and fire shots into the air.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the raid which comes two months after Islamist terror faction Boko Haram kidnapped more than 300 boys from a boarding school in Katsina state.

The children were freed after a week of being moved around in the forest to hide them from the authorities….
