Manchester United star handed strict ultimatum on his future at the club
Liverpool versus Tottenham had all sorts of drama that is still being talked about. From Curtis Jones’ red card to Luis Diaz’s disallowed goal, Liverpool fans are still appalled by the officiating of the match, and plenty of discussion is still happening.
The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) recently apologized for the “human error” on Liverpool’s disallowed goal versus Tottenham. They followed it up by having the Premier League release the voice call of the decision between the match officials and VAR. The audio revealed that VAR misunderstood that the call on the field had been called offside and relayed to the match officials that the call was fine despite seeing that Diaz was played onside by Romero. Before VAR could tell the match officials that they had made a mistake, the match officials had already restarted the game, and they stated nothing could be done.
Jurgen Klopp was rightly furious and has gone on record to show his disappointment in the match officials and VAR. Now, ahead of their match against Union SG, Jurgen Klopp spoke again about the call and made one massive claim (via Fabrizio Romano).
“I think the only outcome for Tottenham-Liverpool game should be a replay”. “It probably won’t happen. I think it is so unprecedented it didn’t happen before”.
After the comment, Spurs fans were quick to remind Jurgen about the 2019 UCL Final. Just mere seconds into the match, Moussa Sissoko was penalized for a handball offence that, upon review, showed the ball had hit his armpit. Liverpool went on to win the match 2-0, which left a bitter taste in the mouth of the Tottenham faithful. Spurs’ fans are now joking that the match Jurgen says should be replayed is the 2019 final in Madrid. Even former Tottenham players are joining in on the joke.
