‘I’m Not Going To Resign Over The Abduction Of Kagara Students’ – Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello Says

The Governor of Niger State, Governor Abubakar Bello has indicated that he is not going to resign over the kidnap of t he students and some staff of the Government Science College Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

This abduction of these people took place on Wednesday morning, as we speak, efforts are being made to bring them back.

Some section of Nigerians are of the view that, the governor has to resign and it is from this that he is saying he is not going to resign.

Addressing newsmen, he said;

“I am not considering resigning anything. This is the first time students are being kidnapped in this state.”

At the same press conference, he rubbished reports that the students and their teachers have been released.

Addressing these reports, he said;

“Everything that is being said out there is rumour and in situations like this, we cannot work with rumour, it has to be confirmed. Yes, we’ve been receiving different rumours from different people within villages but we are still treating those as rumour until processed and confirmed.”
