At the age of 40, the former footballer took over as Fenerbahce boss at the back end of the 2020-21 season. He was close to winning the Turkish league, but in the end, he was unable to win it.
There was speculation over the possible continuity of Emre, but Fenerbahce’s sporting director and his team has other plans in mind for the new season.
Fenerbahce president, Ali Koc, confirmed to the media that the former Inter and Atletico Madrid player will not be the coach next season. That said, he did not reveal who will take over.
