Enugu Community Youths Accuse their Traditional Ruler of high-handedness, abuse of office.


The people of Ugwuafor Akpugo Autonomous Community in Nkanu west local government area of Enugu state have accused the traditional ruler of the community of high-handedness, abuse of power by what they described as the unlawful arrest  and prosecution of some members of the community for no just course.

Youths of the community took the street chanting “enough is enough” carrying plaque cards with inscription such as “Igwe Idenyi Nwodo Stop causing havoc in our community” and “John Nwodo leave our community alone” matched to the Enugu state secretariat.

The youths alleged that the traditional ruler, Igwe John Idenyi Nwodo called for the arrest National youth leader of the community, Mr. Uchenna Nnamchi and Councillor ward 4 Nkanu west, Hon. Gabriel Solomon Edeh, which he tagged as unknown gunmen and kidnappers.

The protesters also accused Igwe Nwodo of attempting to hijack funds meant for the development of the community.
